Jerry Yang

Jerry Yang, born on November 6, 1968, in Taipei, Taiwan, is a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He co-founded Yahoo! Inc. in 1994, serving as its CEO from 2007 to 2009 and as Chief Yahoo! until 2012. In 2012, Yang founded AME Cloud Ventures, a venture capital firm focusing on seed to later-stage companies building infrastructure and value chains around data. The firm invests in technology-heavy companies gathering or creating unique data across the data stack—from infrastructure to applications, mobile, and sensors. AME Cloud Ventures has invested in over 50 startups, including Zoom, Wish, and Vectra Networks. Yang also serves on the boards of Alibaba Group, Lenovo Group Limited, and Workday, Inc. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, where he has been serving on the university’s board of Trustees since October 2017 and was appointed Chair in July 2021.
